Stampin' Up! Circle Scissor Plus Tutorial

The Circle Scissor Plus was introduced in the Spring-Summer Idea Book & Catalog just this past month.  I knew I had to have it.  Circles in size from 1" to 6" and every size imaginable in between! 

So you can see just how easy the Circle Scissor Plus is to use, I made a video to share with you.  You will also see in this video a quick card I made using my cut-out circles from the Circle Scissor Plus, Stampin' Pastels and A Little Birdie Told Me stamp set. 

It is highly recommended you use the Circle Scissor Plus with the Glass Mat.   Rubber mats will dull your cutting blades.  The Glass Mat lets the cutting blade glide over it for a nice, clean cut.

March Fabric CD Calendar with the Stampin' Up! Top Note Big Shot Bigz Die

Okay, this is not the prettiest March calendar I have ever made, but I was so excited to show my gals that we can cut fabric with the Bigz dies. 

I found the shamrock and leprechaun fabric at Walmart.

The card stock colors I used to coordinate with the fabric are Green Galore and Basic Black card stock.  Pretty good match, don't you think?

Stampin' Up! That's Funny Friend Card

Someone posted that Feb. 7 was Send-a-Friend-a-Card Day.  Well, my brand spanking new set, That's Funny, was the perfect set to use for my friends with a good sense of humor.   What a perfect excuse to play with it!

 

Inside it reads, ". . . since I tend to scare normal people away.  GLAD WE'RE FRIENDS!"  Not saying my friends aren't normal . . .

Stampin' Up! Love You Much February CD Calendar

Don't you just love stamp sets with images that punch out?  Love You Much stamp set is one of those sets. 

 

The Scallop Circle Punch is perfect for punching out the "hugs & kisses" scallop circle image.  It is great how it leaves a border around the scallops.  Didn't this turn out cute?  There is a second scallop circle punched out of Riding Hood Red behind the stamped and punched out scallop circle.

I punched out the double-line circle with the hugs & kisses with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch.  All of the layers, with the exception of the Riding Hood Red scallop circle, use Stampin' Dimensionals.  Adding dimension to your hand-stamped projects is another way to step it up a notch.  The little touches are what will make your project stand out in the crowd. 

The Designer Series Paper used here is the Candy Lane.  I used the Scallop Edge Punchfor a coordinating edge.  I just love how Stampin' Up! lets me be coordinated.  Since I've been a little girl, I love and appreciate coordination in colors, textures, etc.

Stampin' Up! Backgrounds 1 Sizzix Texturz Plates

 

Hand Cranked, Not Cramped Hands!

 

Would you love to have a full background with a dry embossed, textured design?  Does just the idea of doing all that intricate detail by hand make your hand cramp?  With the Texturz Plates and just a couple  cranks with the Big Shot handle, you will have a textured design background.

Let me show you how all pieces fit into our Big Shot sandwich for embossed backgrounds. 

 

 

I have read tips about spritzing the card stock with water or rubbing alcohol for a deeper impression.  The tips didn't leave me too "impressed" and was all wet (the card stock anyway).  

 

What worked beautifully for me was to use a piece of card stock as shim under the Texturz plate sandwich. 

 

 Roll the Texturz Plate sandwich through

the Big Shot with just a couple of cranks of the handle.
