The Stars #2 Sizzix Originals Die came to mind immediately when I first thought about my July calendar page. The four different size stars made for a star-studded page.
I decided not to vary with the traditional red, white and blue. I have seen and used variations, but Brilliant Blue, Real Red and Whisper White kept saying "pick me, pick me!" How do you ignore such enthusiasm?

This was the only page that came together quickly for me. Using my favorite type of stamp images, flowers, and my favorite color combination, Regal Rose and Certainly Celery, is always a winning combination for me.
The stamp set used to create this pretty page is Flower Fancy by Stampin' Up! Flower Fancy is a two-step stamp set. There are two stamps to complete the flower image - a solid and an outline stamp. The same with the leaves. The detail stamp image is stamped directly over the solid stamp image. The easiest way to line up one stamp image over the other is with the Stamp-a-ma-jig, a wonderful stamp positioning tool.
The great part of two-step stamps is you get a lot of detail, can use a different color for the solid and detail stamps, all with so little effort.
Another feature is you can use just the solid or outline stamps alone. Using the outline stamp images gives the opportunity to then color them in with sponges, watercoloring, pastels or markers.
The pretty border was made with the Eyelet Border Punch and Certainly Celery card stock. My flower border reminds me of a pretty valance.

After a long Michigan winter, the colors in spring seem to be so vibrant. For that reason, I chose Bold Brights and Stampin' Up! exclusive Blossom Party Sizzix Original Die for my May page for my Wow Wall Calendar.
My flower colors are Pixie Pink, Yoyo Yellow, and Lovely Lilac. My leaves are Glorious Green die-cuts from the Stampin' Up! exclusive Little Leaves Sizzlit.
The Sizzix dies are used with the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine. Ever since UPS delivered my Big Shot, I just can not get enough of it! So many dies, embossing folders and Texturz Plates and so little time.

Although it is hard to pick, this may be my favorite page of my Wow Wall Calendar. It certainly rates in the top 12. :)
My April page features a big ol' pot of blooming tulips. What I love about them is how they were made with punches! Take a look. Have you figured out which punches and how to build your tulip? I have a close-up of one of the tulips below and a chart.
If you think it is made with the three oval punches, you are right!
Here is the chart show the pieces you need for the three flowers.
Use the Wide Oval Punch to trim off the tip of the Wide Oval punch-out. That is the base of your tulip. Lay the Large Oval Punch punch-out in the center of the Wide Oval Punch punch-out. Take the two ends of the Small Oval Punch punch-out and attach them to the back of either side of the Large Oval Punch. Can you hardly get over how pretty it is? I love it!
I used my Slit Punch to make the scallop edge on my flower pot. Instead of having my stampers guess how far to push the punch in on the card stock, I always design so they push the punch up until is stops. You then punch. What you have to remember with the Slit Punch is that a full piece does not punch out. It makes a slit and not a circle. Then simply line the punch up next to the punched slit and punch again. Punch across the entire width until you have one fully scalloped edge.
That was what we were doing for scallop edges before the Scallop Edge Punch hit the scene. My Scallop Edge Punch was already in play for another month, but I am glad it worked out that way. I rather like the large scallops on my big flower pot.
My tulips are Pretty in Pink and Barely Banana. The leaves and stems are Gable Green. My stems were once again cut neatly to 1/4" with my Tabletop Paper Cutter. My background is Bashful Blue with space left for a picture.

The Full Heart Punch made the perfect shamrocks for my March calendar page. Each shamrock was made with three Glorious Green Full Heart punch-outs and a 1/4" strip of card stock.
Cutting 1/4" strips of card stock is an easy task with my Tabletop Paper Cutter. I do not know what I did before my much-loved cutter came along. Well, I do, I spent more time preparing for classes. I also used it to cut very fine strips of card stock for my December calendar page. I know of no other way to get the small slivers of card stock other than the Tabletop Paper Cutter. At least not consistently and efficiently.
My page needed some depth. I used the Gable Green and Green Galore Craft Stampin' Pads to sponge in some deep color. I started with sponging in areas of Gable Green Craft Ink on the Gable Green card stock. Because the Craft Ink Pads are a pigment ink, they are thicker and more dramatic on colored card stock. I then filled in the un-inked areas with Green Galore Craft Ink.
Because I did not want to wait for the Craft Ink to dry, I stamped the little shamrocks from Holiday Blitz stamp set in Craft Ink too - Glorious Green. I also wondered if the Classic Ink would stamp well on the pigment (Craft Ink). I was pleased with the results and so did not try. Let me know if you try it and what results you get.
