Oh my! I thought they would be nice, but I did not expect to fall as deeply in love as I have with the new Stampin' Up! clear mount stamps! I am a convert. You will find them in the Occasions Mini Catalog 2010.
What is there not to love? The clear mount stamp sets are
less expensive
take a lot less room on the shelf
and can see through the high-quality acrylic clear mount for better positioning
In the Occasions Mini Catalog 2010, sales period starting January 5, you have the option of purchasing stamp sets in the traditional wood mounting or the new clear mounts!
And, there is more! A new style of punches! Someone said they weigh less, but I do not find that to be true. What I love about them, and you will too, is
they are even easier to punch with because of the large area to hold onto
you can have larger, or more, images on a single punch compared to the current style
they are no more expensive for more punch
My customers will all be receiving their Occasions Mini Catalog 2010 and Sale-a-bration 2010 brochure in the mail any day now. Will you? If you are not currently on a Stampin' Up! demonstrators mailing list, please contact me for a free Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs at shelly@stampinsmiles.com.

Tired of Christmas samples? Never! But, I need to show you some ideas with stamp sets from the Dormant List that are retiring on January 4, 2010.
The retiring stamp set used on my card is the background stamp Friend by Definition (109425). Here, I used it to make a bold statement. It makes for a great, subtle background too.
I set a challenge for my downline swap to use the masking technique. Have you heard of it? Do you see how the words from my Friend by Definition stamp are not on my flower or stem? That is because I masked the images. Let me explain.
First I stamped my flower from Fifth Avenue Floral (113734) and stem onto my Whisper White card stock. I then stamped both again on a scrap piece of paper. And, I mean paper and not card stock. I cut them out and applied some temporary adhesive, Dotto, to the back. I then put the paper pieces, or masks, on my stamped images.
Next, I stamped the Friend by Definition background over the entire page. When I removed the masks, the flower and stem were free of words! Is that not cool?
Just one thing to always remember when masking. Whatever image is to be out in front, that is the image to be masked.
Another tip: save your mask. Just store it in the box with your stamps. You can use it over and over again.
Like the Friend by Definition stamp set? Order it online now on www.stampinsmiles.stampinup.net before it is gone for good! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Do you like to have party favors? Do you particularly like ones that are fabulous but fast to make? Then you will love this! I was delighted when the idea was shared on Stampin' Up!'s demonstrator website. It uses the Stampin' Up! Two Tags Bigz Die. And, it just happens to be one of the Sizzix products on sale with the 12 Days of Holiday Sales promotion. Click here to see all the sale items and discounted prices.
The favor used two of the large tags from the Two Tags Bigz Die.
Do you see the score line? You fold both on the score line and adhere them together. That is it! How stinkin' easy is that?
My Very Vanilla card stock strip is 1-1/4" x 2-3/4". The Merry Moments Designer Series Paper is 1" x 2-3/4". You can make a lot of favors with just one pack of designer paper. It would also be cute to make them in different patterns from the same pack of pattern. All of them would then be coordinating but different.
I stamped Dasher (116816) in Real Red on Very Vanilla card stock. Punched him out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch and layered it on a 1-3/8" Real Red circle. Both of those are layered on a Chocolate Chip Scallop Circle. To top of the project, I used Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon and tied a pretty bow. The holes were already made from the Bigz die.
This idea is so good, I am already helping two customers design for upcoming events. One is for her son's graduation and the other is for favors at our annual Valentine's Day dinner at church.
I am waiting for my Sizzix Stampin' Up! Timeless Type Alphabet to be delivered. On some of the favors we want to use the school's initials. I will share one after we get our sample made.
Already came up with a great idea for your own event? Order the exclusive Stampin' Up! Two Tags Bigz Die now on my online ordering website www.stampinsmiles.stampinup.net.
