Stampin' Up Vintage Vogue Boxed Card Set Idea by Stampin' Smiles

Isn't the Vintage Vogue stamp set pretty?  I am having a lot of fun with it!  My Vintage Vogue Boxed Note Card Set class was patterned after the sample in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

While I took my inspiration from the picture, several important differences are included in my class.  My cards are full size cards and not just a single sheet of card stock; the custom-designed box, insert and lid were made to accomodate envelopes too, and the box has a clear lid. 

That is the beauty of inspiration!  Take an idea and make it your own.

Stampin' Up! Birthday Bliss Card Pretty and Pink and Soft Suede Card Idea by Stampin' Smiles

Do you have a birthday stamp set on hand to make a quick card when needed?  Even though you mark your calendars, birthdays have a way of sneaking up on you.  It just happened to me.  I looked at my calendar thinking I still had a day or two to make a card for a friend only to realize I was a day late.  Rut-ro.

Thank goodness I could grab my new Stampin' Up! Birthday Bliss stamp set (pictured below) and quickly design a belated birthday card for my friend.  The brown of Soft Suede makes for a beautiful pink and brown combo.

Also, thankfully, I have the Stampin' Up! On Your Birthday stamp set (pictured below) for the perfect greeting for a belated birthday wish.  The stamp I used reads "I just wanted to give you a reason to celebrate a little longer!  Happy Belated Birthday".

Like the saying of the stamp I used "May your layers be many", after using the 1-3/8" Square Punch to punch out the stamped image, I layered, and layered and layered.  Adding layers is a great way to dress up a small stamped image.

Pleased with my layers, I knew my card needed some balance.  I would have loved to have added some Soft Suede Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon across the bottom of my card, but that was not on hand.  So, out came my Scallop Trim Border Punch.

Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog Vintage Vogue & Pawsitively Prints Card Idea by Stampin' Smiles

Was the Vintage Vogue stamp set from the Stampin' Up! 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog one that caught your eye?  The set of eight stamps (pictured below) certainly will give you a beautiful vintage look to your paper crafting projects!

My pretty designer paper is the Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper also from the Occasions.  This pattern is in one of my favorite color combinations - Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.

My flowers are stamped with Soft Suede Classic Ink.  Several of the ladies who stamped this card in my All Occasion Fast & Fabulous Cards Class asked if I stamped the vine before or after the flowers.  The answer is I stamped the flowers first and then filled in with the vines.  With the clear mount stamps, it was easy to position the stamp and stamp in between the flowers.

The Thinking of You stamp came from the Three Little Words stamp set.  I got it for free when I placed $50 in products from www.stampinsmiles.stampinup.net!  You can get it for free too until March 31, 2010 or purchase it for $13.95.

Stampin' Up! Sweet Pea Stitched Felt 12" x 12" Scrapbook Pages

Did you see the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt set in the Stampin' Up! 2010 Occasions Mini Catalog and wondered what to do with them?  I can understand why with the very few samples in the mini catalog using them.

Designing for my scrapbooking class, a package of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt caught my eye.  It was time to play with them.  And, this is the result:

 

Aren't these sweet pages?  The Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Pretty in Pink color combination of the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt is so pretty.

The Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive was my choice of adhesive.  Last year I used the Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive with the Flower Fusion with fantastic results.  Easy to use with great holding power.

My "Pretty in Pink" title was made with the Stampin' Up! Timeless Type Junior Alphabet Medium Sizzlits Dies.  I love the professional look and the time savings my Sizzix alphabet provides.  I need more alphabets!
