Handmade Christmas Greeting Card Idea with Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Season Stamp Set

Are you like me and love Christmas?  Do you get excited when it is once again time to make handmade Christmas cards?   And homemade Christmas gifts?

Godby With Us Stamper Molly Hinken is as crazy for Christmas as I am.  Doesn't it make you feel better when you find others that are as over-the-top crazy for something you love too?  It makes me feel a bit more normal.   As much as that is possible. :-)

Not only do Molly and I love Christmas, we tend to have the same taste in stamp sets.  Upon first sight, we both had chosen Beautiful Season for our Christmas cards.   The Beautiful Season card shown here was tossed aside for another card idea Molly had.

Molly_Hinken

Can you believe this is a toss-away?  I just love it.   When Molly suggested the Rich Razzleberry card stock on Chocolate Chip card stock, honestly I thought it would just pretty much blend in.  Well, was I ever wrong (painful to admit but true).  It lets you have the Rich Razzleberry to pull the color of the berries without it dominating the card with its rich color.

Molly wondered what to do at the bottom of the card for balance.  Since the Rich Razzleberry card stock looked so nice against the Chocolate Chip card stock, I thought the Rich Razzleberry 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon might look equally as nice.

Molly_Hinken_Beautiful_Season_close_up

Pretty, huh?  Against the Chocolate Chip card stock, the Rich Razzleberry ribbon doesn't look bright.

So far you know the card stock colors are Chocolate Chip and Rich Razzleberry.  Wondering which green it is?  It is Pear Pizzazz.  Nice color combination.

If you would also like the Stampin' Up! Beautiful Season stamp set to be used for your handmade Christmas cards too, order it in my online store now!

And, feel free to use Molly's design.  She isn't.

When you order online from Stamping Smiles, you enter into the Stamping Smiles Online Ordering Oasis!  After only 3 orders of $25 or more, you earn FREE shipping on the fourth order!  It is that easy.  No punch cards.  You don't have to wait until you spend hundreds of $$$ to earn your FREE shipping reward.   Just place your 4th order within one year of the first.

Life is complicated enough, ordering the best stamping and scrapbooking supplies available should not be.  It isn't with the Stamping Smiles Online Ordering Oasis rewards program.  Enter into the oasis now with your first order on www.stampinsmiles.stampinup.net!

Let Earth Receive Her King: Sounding Joy Christmas Card Idea

Did you know the first two verses of Joy to World are written to make the star of The Sounding Joy stamp set?  So pretty.

Daffodil_Delight_Star

Do you ever layer a card stock piece onto a card stock of the same color?  We usually think the purpose of layering is for contrast.  But, don’t you like the elegance of color on color?  In this case, Cherry Cobbler is the card stock of choice.

Speaking of elegant, take a gander at the Very Vanilla 3/8″ Velvet Stitched Ribbon.

Daffodil_Delight_Star_close_up

Isn’t that pretty?  Do you find if someone is wearing something with velvet sleeves you want to caress their arms?  Maybe it’s just me . . .

Anyway, back to stamping.  The vanilla velvet ribbon has some body to it.   On this card I tied a simple knot.  Playing around I was able to make a bow, but it took a bit longer than with the finer ribbons.  With practice, I bet you could tie velvet bows fairly quickly.

Like to see another card using The Sounding Joy.  A simply elegant The Sounding Joy card idea.

Like The Sounding Joy stamp set?  Because it is from the 2011 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Mini Catalog, there is a high probability it will not be offered again.  But, it is available now!

Order The Sounding Joy in my online store so you can make beautifully elegant Christmas cards and more.
