Stampin’ Up! Printed Petals Card Idea: Handmade with Rubber Stamps

Did you see the row of five little flowers stamp in the Printed Petals stamp set?  They so adorable, I wanted to hand stamp a card using just them.  The card idea turned out to be very sweet and delicate.  It is so much fun creating new card designs!

Little_Flowers

The color combination of this card design is Baja Breeze, So Saffron and Poppy Parade (In Color).  The So Saffron Textured Card Stock added a soft touch of texture and interest to my card that would be great as a birthday card, thank you card, co-worker card or thinking of you card.

Printed Petals Card Idea: Only 6 Days Left to Purchase at 30% Discount!

My watermark is on the picture of the card, but I did not stamp it.  Friends from out-0f-state were visiting.  Naturally, we ladies wanted to stamp.  Wanting to play with my new rubber stamp set, Printed Petals, I just got at 30% off, I had her grab it, card stock, stamp pads, etc while I finished cleaning up the kitchen from dinner.

My friend and creator of this pretty card, Sherry Dean, wanting to get out of the rut of using the same colors, picked up the Color Coach and chose a pretty color combination of So Saffron, Poppy Parade and Baja Breeze.  As you can see, she used just two of them for her card.

Both of the flowers used on the card are from the Printed Petals stamp set.  The happy birthday greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

So, here is this proud mother of a great group of stampers showing off one of her girl's cards.  Sherrie Bryant is the artist.  She took my Fancy Folds class and made several more of the criss-cross cards with the Stampin' Up! Woodland Walk Designer Series Paper.  Isn't it pretty?

2011 Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Punch Bunch Card Idea: Welcome Baby

Did you notice the adorable baby stamp in the FREE Sale-a-bration Punch Bunch stamp set?   It is so sweet with the duck mobile.  And, it punches out perfectly with the Large Tag Punch.  Love the Stampin' Up! punches!

Welcome_Baby_Punch_Bunch

As much as I love the Stampin' Up! punches, I love layers.  How thrilled I am to be able to layer the Large Tag Punch with the Extra Large Tag Punch!  Punches make card making fun and fast!  I don't know about you, I like to make my own cards, but gone are the days I want to spend hours making just one.    My goal:  fast yet still fabulous!

The Daffodil Delight is my favorite of the five never-seen-before-colors introduced to Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Color Collections.  It is bright and cheery without being overly bright.  So pretty!  I find myself grabbing for it instead of So Saffron.  Never thought that would happen.

Anyway, my polka dot designer paper used on the left side of the card is from the Brights Patterns Series Paper Pack, specifically, the Daffodil Delight.  It is such a pretty combination with Old Olive.

Because I had been making cards using the Ice Cream Parlor colors combination, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point and Pumpkin Pie, I naturally grabbed the Pacific Point Stampin' Write Marker for the "welcome baby" and dotted border of the stamp.

My cute layered tag needed some ribbon.  How sweet is the 1/8" Daffodil Delight Taffeta Ribbon?  I folded the ribbon piece in half and attached it with an ordinary staple.   I guess it is because I feel like a kid in a candy store when in an office supply store that I love the look.

As I am sure I have stated before, I do not particularly care for a naked edge when adding designer series paper to my projects.  It is just another one of my issues.    So, to avoid the naked edge, I added an Old Olive card stock strip punched with Eyelet Border Punch.  I particularly like the like color on like color for a soft look.

2011 Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Punch Bunch Card Idea: True Friend

Polka dot fever hit when making this card!  I started with stamping and punching the true friend stamp from the FREE Sale-a-bration Punch Bunch stamp set.

True_Friend_Punch_Bunch

My colors, Melon Mambo, Pacific Point, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight, are all colors in the FREE Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper.  So bright and cheery.

First I stamped the true friend stamp from the Punch Bunch set with Melon Mambo Classic Ink and punched it out with 1" Circle Punch.  I then cleaned the stamp and stamped it again with Pacific Point Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock.  I then punched out just the center of the stamped image with the 1/2" Circle Punch.  I layered it onto the Melon Mambo stamped and punched image with a Stampin' Dimensional.  In a picture is hard to tell it makes a difference, but the extra little lift sure does in person.

How do you layer a circle, with more circles, of course.  Once I got started, I just couldn't stop myself.  We have so many circle punches, it was quick and easy.  Here are my additional layers of circles:

1-1/4" Circle Punch in Old Olive card stock

1-3/8" Circle Punch in Daffodil Delight card stock

1-3/4" Circle Punch in striped Ice Cream Parlor Designer Series Paper

2-1/2" Circle Punch in Pacific Point card stock

Not knowing where to go from there, I only knew for some reason I wanted my Pacific Point 2-1/2" circle on a Pacific Point card stock base.  What is a girl to do?  Apparently, add more circles.   My 1" circles consist of the four colors:  Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point.  Once again, in the picture is hard to see, if not impossible, to see the 1" Pacific Point circles.  It truly looks so cool in person.

2011 Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration So Happy for You Card Idea: Shamrock

Want to share a little luck of the Irish?  This sweet card was made using the FREE with $50 purchase 2011 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration So Happy for You stamp set.  The shamrock and "good luck" greeting are just a couple of the stamps in the set.  View another card I made with the So Happy for You stamp set.

Shamrock_So_Happy_for_You

The "good luck" greeting was stamped with Wild Wasabi Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock and punched out with the Modern Label Punch.  It fit so nicely on the punched pieced of card stock.

The cute little buttons on each side of the "good luck"  are from the Bitty Buttons.  The buttons are clear.  The green you see is Wild Wasabi card stock punched with the Punch Pack punches designed for a perfect fit.  How cool is that?   I used the Anywhere Glue Stick to attach the Wild Wasabi punched pieces, poked holes through the card stock with my Paper Piercing Tool and tied a piece of crochet thread through the button holes.

The designer paper is the white from the Neutrals Pattern Stack Designer Series Paper.  I love the new Pattern Packs.  You get sheets of every color in a collection instead of whole lot of one color like before.

2011 Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration Punch Bunch Card Idea: Happy Birthday

Do you ever find yourself adding layer after layer?  It is  trick or technique I often use when I want to use a small stamp as the focal point on the card.    In this case, it was the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" stamp from the FREE 2011 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-bration limited-edition Punch Bunch stamp set.

HB_Punch_Bunch

The "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" stamp was stamped with Pacific Point Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock.  I cut it out by hand and layered it onto a Scallop Square piece of Daffodil Delight card stock punched out with the Scallop Square Punch.

From there I just kept adding layers, alternating between Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight card stock, up to the final piece of the scallop edged piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.  The large scallop square of Daffodil Delight card stock was die-cut with the Sizzix Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and exclusive Stampin' Up! Scallop Square Duo Sizzix Bigz Die.
