This afternoon I made five greeting cards with the Stampin’ Up! Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper. Each is a bit different even though the layout is the same and the same gorgeous pattern used to cover virtually the entire front to the card.
A fold in the bottom left corner reveals the white with the black polka dot pattern on the opposite side. Does it get better than butterflies and polka dots? Possibly because each butterfly pattern had a black and white pattern on the other side too.
On the upturned corner, you’ll find a thoughtful greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Part of My Story Stamp Set. It reads “the world needs more people like you” embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The opaqueness of the white emboss stands out strong against the Basic Black Cardstock.
Have you noticed how on each of the five handmade greeting cards there is a butterfly popped up? Each was cut from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper and adhered over top the same butterfly with a Stampin’ Dimensional. My favorites are the butterflies that overlap the upturned flap.
The finishing touch is the black pearl that appears to be holding the upturned flap in place. It’s one of the large Pearl Basic Jewels colored with a Basic Black Dark Stampin’ Blends marker. The Stampin’ Blends make it possible to make the pearls in a large variety of colors to coordinate with the other Stampin’ Up! color products. Often it’s the little things that make a card more special.
